As part of the Youth Expression Festival Rorisang Sechele brings her musical offerings HOME by sharing her original jazzy & soulful compositions. This is an invitation to an intimate place she calls “A Safe Haven”, a place of comfort and warmth. With a message that heavily highlights the importance of mental health awareness through introspection, acceptance, release and affirmation, this is a call to those needing a place they can call HOME.

Jamali made their debut 20 years ago on the TV show “Coca ColaPopstars. The dynamic trio is made up of three talented and passionate singers and performers who won the competition during the 2003 season. With platinum album sales, sold out concerts and South African Music Awards under their belt, the name Jamali was created from the names of the three enormously talented stars - Jacky, Mariechan and Liesl. Over the past 20 years, Jamali has gained a huge audience of fans, and is still standing with a proven track record of success.

Songbird Nhlanhla Dube honours the legendary Mam Busi Mhlongo, a South African musical treasure whose artistry transcended music to become a powerful force for political influence, storytelling, feminism, and the fight against racism and tribalism. Through her music, Mam Busi gave South Africans a sense of home and identity. This show is a heartfelt homage not only to Mam Busi Mhlongo but also to the enduring legacies of late African musicians who shaped the country’s rich musical heritage.

An award-winning musician, she has been lauded as one of the great singing talents of her time, and has inspired the creation of new music by South African composers, both in the classical art song, opera as well as jazz genres. She has performed at numerous prestigious venues abroad and has appeared at every major theatre and jazz festival in South Africa.
